Love Is Complicated

Love is complicated, is probably the understatement of all time. I just caught the end of the movie Castaway. For those of you who have never seen it, it is a story about two people so very much in love and he gets stranded on a desert island for years, only to eventually get rescued.

As life went on, she married, had children, yet loved each other more then life itself. Why would this happen? Makes no sense really. When two people love each other like this, there are times when love and relationships are complicated.

Even if you believe in a higher force, whether it is the God of your choosing, or the Universe itself, why in the world do things like this happen? It's hard enough to find someone and fall in love to begin with, let alone finding someone you love and the complications of life that keep you apart.

These people have to live with this for the rest of their lives and still function like a normal human being. Talk about your own cross to bare.

Whatever it is that's out there that does these types of things to people, and then try to find the logical reasons why, is mind boggling.

Do we live our lives and reap what we sow? Do we have any control at all what happens to us? Is our destiny already forecast in our lives and that is that? I know, these are the questions of the ages.

Love is complicated enough when things like this don't happen. I'll guess we'll never know.
